Hi, my name is Jeff Blythin, I am 54 years old and live in Rhyl, North Wales UK; where the name Blythin originated.I am currently researching my family tree and came upon this site. The name Blythin is obviously a derivative, most probably from the name Bleddyn / Bledden. In fact there was a Welsh Prince called Bleddyn who lived in a place called Dyserth (North Wales) in the 11th century, so who knows perhaps one of us needs to tell Prince Charles he's only holding the fort. Very nice site! The geneology page is really neat... I've recently become interested in this stuff, and having the info on the web is great. Too bad the "Relationship calculator" seems somewhat limited compared to some other software I've used. It's sort of neat to know exactly how you're related to others that you see on here. p.s. most of the Blythin's in the US & Canada are related... search for Peter Bleddyn (1847 - 1917), and look at his decendants ;-) |

I have enjoyed viewing your website. I knew there were some Blythins in Ohio, but didn't know there were any so far afield in the US. As far as I know there is only the small group of us here in Canada. My grandfather (Tudor) researched the family tree back to about 1600 which my father (David) has a copy of - it might fill in a few blanks for you. (although he did sign in your guest book that he as from Ontarion, I hope that it was a typo, or else he is getting too old to know where he is?!). |
